SENIOR MANAGER LEGAL
Core Responsibilities:
· Lead the drafting, review, and negotiation of complex legal documents, contracts, and agreements, ensuring compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and organizational policies.
· Provide high-level legal counsel and strategic guidance on real estate transactions, statutory compliance, corporate governance, and other critical business matters, driving organizational goals and supporting decision-making at senior levels.
· Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate legal risks across various business functions, recommending and implementing effective strategies to manage and reduce those risks. Experience Qualifications
· Represent the organization and its subsidiaries as legal counsel in Labour Tribunals, courts, and other legal forums, ensuring the Group’s interests are effectively protected.
· Lead and oversee the compliance process, ensuring that all legal obligations and regulatory requirements are met, thereby minimizing financial, operational, and reputational risks.
· Coordinate and collaborate with external legal advisors, overseeing the handling of legal matters, and ensuring consistency and alignment with organizational goals and legal strategies.
· Design and deliver training sessions on legal and regulatory matters to internal teams, fostering a culture of legal awareness and ensuring organizational compliance.
· Develop and manage a comprehensive legal document management system, ensuring efficient organization and access to legal records across the organization.
Experience:
· Minimum of 10 years of experience in a senior legal role, ideally within a corporate or commercial environment, with a proven ability to handle complex legal matters independently, including capital market-related issues.
· Experience in company secretarial work is highly desirable, with a demonstrated understanding of corporate governance matters.
· Strong experience in managing legal matters autonomously, including the ability to provide strategic legal advice without direct reports.
Qualifications:
· LLB from a UGCSL-recognized university and an Attorney at Law of the Supreme Court of Sri Lanka, with a Notary License.
· Proven ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
· Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills, with the ability to simplify complex legal issues and deliver actionable solutions.
· Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to engage with senior stakeholders and external parties effectively.
· High degree of professionalism, integrity, and work ethic, with the ability to independently manage a broad range of legal functions.
· Proficient in MS Office and relevant legal software applications, with strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
